Have you ever thought about getting baptized or wonder what is the significance of water baptism? JGLM Canada recently held a river baptism in Calgary, Ab the turn out was amazing!
Significance of water baptism
The main purpose of baptism would boil down to one thing; Identification. Baptism speaks mainly of a personal, public identification with Jesus Christ. When we get baptized in water we are proclaiming the message of gospel Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and lives again in us. We are identifying ourselves with Him.
Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Recently, two of Calgary’s LifeTeams together organized an awesome time of Baptisms followed by fellowship down at Pearce Estate Park. We had people come from all over Alberta, as far as 7.5 hours away! We were ready to Baptize 12 people, but in actual fact ended up baptizing 16 people in total. 5 of the 16 were convicted and on the spot, made their public declarations to follow Christ Jesus. 9 of these individuals were kids, the youngest being 6. How amazing!!
Calgary Pastor
Before we get into more abut the baptism, Pastor Marty & Brigitte started the day off with a surprise ordination. Jason and his wife Veena have been a great asset to the ministry. They are always willing to help out, serve and setup events with their Lifeteam like the baptisms in the park. We looking forward to what the Lord is doing in their lives. Congratulations to Pastor Jason Hosia and his wife, Veena Hosia.
Baptism Calgary
Pastor Marty, Pastor Jason & Pastor Dawson together baptized each one of these saints who in obedience came forward. We celebrated this day by enjoying a time of fellowship with like minded Christians and breaking bread together. There were many smiles, hugs, love & much laughter. All in all a day of many blessings.

Afterwards we had some fellowship and pizza in the park as well as some preaching by Brother Daniel. We had a great time and already have other people wanting to get baptized.
